One day I wanted to quit...
I wanted to quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...
I went to the woods to have a talk with the Universe.
While I know that "why" is never really the question, and that it always diverts me from my strengths, I asked anyway, feeling angry and sorry for myself.
Then I noticed the fern and the bamboo.
Something inside my head went off and said to me, "When these were seeds, the fern grew rapidly and covered the forest, but it took the bamboo seed four years to even sprout."
Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...
But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
Delay is never denial. It just means that your UpSpiral, your Strengths, and your VibeCore are growing.
It also means that the rest of creation is lining up for you for just the right time.

This month, we have begun the national and international launch of the first UpSpiraLife Groups. We currently have 7 groups up and running! I am always asked- where do normal, everyday people go for support, on an ongoing basis, that moves them from negativity to positivity and into an UpSpiral of increasingly positive thought, feeling and experience?
Nothing like this exists, and while it will change and morph with experience and research, it has begun! God will honor that, because all this goodness is creation unfolding, the universe expanding and Source continuing to create through all of this.
You are creating those centers of attraction that bring goodness, well-being, and hope into the world so that love expands. Expand the love, share the peace, grow the gratitude, and savor the joy you create!
Let us hear from you, each one of you, and share your experience here, so we have it for our history! What has it been like to make this new beginning, to be a part of this new positive initiative? What have you experienced as a result of your participation?

Every cell in your body, recent scientific discoveries have shown,"hears." Not only do your cells "hear" music at the same level of your audible hearing, but your cells also hear what you are feeling and thinking. Every thought, every feeling is heard by your cells, by sound waves and sensory transmissions that are audible to the sensory mechanisms of each of your cells. Stop and consider this for a minute. Every minute of everyday, you are telling your cells how to feel. How do you think that affects their health?
So what your cells assimilate and what they expel, and how they function in healthy or unhealthy ways is fundamentally and radically affected by their environment of sensory information. That information comes from your choices about how you feel and how you think. Positive emotion is the most powerful anti-toxin.
Make the choices for love, peace, gratitude and joy throughout the day. Maybe everything isn't going like you planned or expected, maybe there is a downer or two, but you can still feel these emotions on some level of 1-10 from just a little to more and more. Can't feel them at all, you say? Then think them. You don't have to deny negative feelings, but you also don't have to stay in them, live in them, or obsess over them. Let negative feelings be a signal to find something to be grateful for and start to pulse a little bit of a thought and a feeling of joy.
You move in the direction in which you intend to go -into an UpSpiral or into a DownSpiral. And your cells are listening to the choice you make. What effect do you suppose this choice to feel toward the "good" has on the health of your always "listening" and sensory receptive cells, to each and every one of them?

Science catches up with intuition and consciousness.
Eventually science proves or will prove the truth in each, but it can never be the gate keeper of imagination, intuition or consciousness.
To the contrary, intuition is the shepherd of science.
Eventually science catches up and proves what the mystics and contemplatives have known through experience and observation. It is exciting when
neuroscience proves that meditation and thoughts can change the brain, but changing the brain in these ways has gone on forever, before science proved it to be true. And now science sharpens and refines what intuition and imagination have already crafted. In doing so it teaches us how to do better, with greater skill and for the masses.
And, by the way, experience and observation are also practices of the scientific method.
Today's science of hypotheses and double-blind studies, important as it is, has great limitations. There are these intangibles -great benefits to things like joy, happiness, virtue and values- that we are just beginning to find ways to scientifically measure. If we wait for science to catch up with consciousness, belief and hunches, opportunity will have passed us by and imagination will have fizzled.
It's essential to have the support and safety of science because this knowing takes us to the next cutting edge of imagination and intuition. But all the data, Einstein would tell us, is not a requirement for thinking, imagining and creating, and it is not a replacement for "just knowing that you know that you know that you know." For Einstein, "imagination" is of paramount and singular importance in living and discovering.
There is nothing quite like a strong inner voice, cultivated by sound spiritual practice over time; its refinement is one of the great gifts of the second half of life.
However, we can also get hung up in this "sound spiritual practice" stuff. God is bigger than a set of requirements. Listen to your gut and imagine, listen to your gut and imagine, listen to your gut and imagine, and you'll get better and better at it over time. God is busting at your seams to reveal through you as you.

There are special lights that you can use to enhance the growth of plants called "grow lights" -they have special rays that enhance photosynthesis in plant life.
You, as a coach are a "laser grow light." The "laser" part is your ability to find and hone in on what is good and great, and by your "Zeno" dense attention focused upon it, your ability to enable it to grow. You enable conversations about what is good in a person that they don't have and probably never have had, to this extent, with anyone else in their lives. Consistently over time, you bring your laser focus to UpSpiral scores, and the other scores, to strengths and to
flow and you allow people to talk about the positive things that no one else has either the insight, interest or time to notice.
These are deep quality conversations about what is good in which another person gets all of your quality listening attention. And it not that you are just listening; you are listening deeply for strengths and their application, for goals, for behaviors, attitudes and States of Mind that work- and you are over and over again reinforcing them.
As a result of your work, each client's UpSpiral should be higher, and most importantly, every client should have increased hope. That hope will take the lead by attracting just what the Universe is ready to give them, but had been blocked by their negativity.
By using the simple tools of compassion, kindness, and a gentle push, as well as by what you notice, you are bringing into being-into reality- the greater good of others. Now once in a while someone will be stuck in negativity and won't want to move. Good coaches get the best out of athletes by knowing when to encourage, when to reinforce- and when the best reinforcement is a straight, in your face, challenge to grow! Be cool, be wise, be crafty and polish your skills, always with an eye on what is good and the goals and vision that will eventually emerge. These are the things that move others toward goals, meaning, purpose and vision.
It starts with what we call the art of the "quality conversation," focused on the good and allowing the client the time and space to talk about it, over and over, until what is good eclipses any weaknesses that used to monopolize their attention.

You have a vibe that is at the very core of you. It is your magnetism and draws to you want you get and repels what doesn't belong. Very simply, your VibeCore represents knowing what you want (you don't have to know all at once, it can emerge over time.) Just the sense that you are defining it will strengthen the dimension of your inner experience and increase your sense of inner solidarity. Your intention to head in the direction of this greater self-definition of your wants is a strong force in your life. The more time you spend in an UpSpiral, the more you will get it touch with what you really want, because you will get a clear sense of what feels good.
Believing you will get it is next and that's easy to say. Play to your strengths. Realize that when you play to your weaknesses you just don't "feel good." When you don't "feel good" you aren't coming from your strengths. Your strengths are you; the real you becoming even more of who you are.
Being open to however and whenever what you want will happen is the third measure of your VibeCore. You increase the "flow of life" that is a high VibeCore by increasing and letting go of you and your "stuff." You keep you and what you have in a high degree of circulation and reciprocity. Give away what you don't use, tip more, don't be cheap with yourself, first of all. Be a wise philanthropist, give your encouragement, give your caring, give your precious time, give a phone call, give a smile, give 5 more minutes in a conversation with someone who needs to talk. Call someone just to tell them how much they mean in your life or special they are. Clean your closets, clean your garage, clean your cupboards, but don't give away what you love, don't work too hard at making this work by "false sacrifice." Give freely, spread it around. And a few extra dollars to your church, workers who help you, and "hand-outs" that "in your gut" seem right to do are all the ways you can be a philanthropist, that in the giving will just return to you more to share.
